Bead Soup is Here!

My bead soup from my partner Donna has made its way here from the Philippines. And I am sooo thrilled! Donna is a fabulous polymer clay artist and she handmade the focal and matching beads.

The beads have got a woodland fairy-sprite feel to them. A little Midsummer Night's Dream to my mind. I'm not quite sure what I'll create with these because I've never played with such beads before. I just hope I do them justice.

Oh, and of course Donna also sent coordinating beads, components and a clasp.

Some round glass beads, pearls and itty-bitty green beads.

A beautiful brass toggle clasp and flower connectors. These are so pretty!

And finally, another focal. I think.

A huge crocheted flower. I have absolutely no clue what I'll do with this but I sure hope I think of something.

Bead Soup is on Its Way

I met the 14 Mar deadline for sending off bead soup packages. Phew! My partner Donna should get it within a week and half - if there aren't any postal screw-ups.

Here's a teaser pic of what I sent:

It's a pretty colourful soup. I think I might have gone overboard in picking beads in almost every colour represented in the focal. Now, to wait for my bead soup to arrive. I can't wait - especially since Donna tells me she made the focal and beads herself. Whee!

My Bead Soup Blog Party Partner

This is my fourth time playing in the BSBP and I've had partners from around the globe - Bahrain, Malaysia, New Zealand. And now....the Philippines!

My partner for this party is Donna Cruz-Comia who makes amazing polymer clay creations. Apart from beautiful jewellery - her focal beads are gorgeous! - she makes everything from wedding toppers to card cases. Check out her stunning work at

The Bead Soup Blog Party is baackkkk!

Sorry for the radio silence. I've been struggling with some serious health issues (which I may blog about in future posts) and have almost completley lost my blogging and beading mojo.

I was tempted to pass on this year's BSBP but after lots of thought, decided to go for it. At least it'll be a welcome distraction from my real world situation.

So check back on 3rd May for the reveal. With over 400 participants, I'm sure we're all going to be spending several weeks (months in my case) checking out everyone's creations and drooling over the lovelies.
